Following a spectacular display at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup Championships held in the Netherlands which saw Nigeria narrowly lost to Messi's Argentina at the finals in 2005.
Mikel rise to stardom was inevitable as top clubs in Europe begin to fight for his signature, the brawl became stiff and narrowed down to the two Premiership giants Manchester United and Chelsea.

After a lot of curt cases Mikel later joined his dream club Chelsea under the head coach José Morinho as at that time.
Mikel who was known for his attacking midfielder role was later converted by coach José Morinho to a more defensive role which saw Mikel barely going forward unless on special occasions. He however became famous for this role as he became formidable and strong to opponents and a rock in Chelsea midfield which made the team stronger.

According to a study by a French
publication, Footendirect, Mikel's net worth is said to be at £75,000, which lists him as the 8th richest in Africa and 3rd in Nigeria as a footballer.
Stargist highlighted that the star earns $5.8 million per year playing for Chelsea.

Talking about being successful the Chelsea star seems to be be enjoying his life off the pitch in a very cozy and rich style, Mikel owns a massive mansion in London, his London home has some luxurious interior, he owns a Bentley Continental GT (worth a whooping about N35m), Mercedes G Wagon, Black Mercedes G 500 and a Range Rover Sport, But he loves to chill not only in expensive cars but with bicycles too.

Mikel has found love with Olga, a russian model from a wealthy background and they both have two lovely baby twin, Olga was recently thrown a nice birthday party with friends and family Mikel also spends time playing with his dogs, He often hangs out with Nigerian entertainers too.

Finally, Indonesia Executes 8 Prisoners Including 4 Nigerians For Drugs Offences

Sunday Oliseh Appoints His New Assistants For His Club

Fortuna Sittard’s manager, Sunday Oliseh, has appointed Alexander Voigt and Gino Facenna as his two assistant coaches, ahead of the 2017/2018 Dutch second division campaign. The super super eagles couch has gone ahead to apoint his assistants  ahead of the 2017/2018 Dutch second division campaign, this was part of the terms and conditions he gave to the mangement of the team when he accepted the job as manager for the second division side Fortuna Sittard. Voigt, a former player of Borussia Mönchengladbach, Greuther Fürth FSV Frankfurt, Carl Zeiss Jena, Victoria Cologne and Roda JC, will be Oliseh’s first assistant coach. “When I joined the club in January I told the management I wanted my own assistants and those terms were agreed upon that we would get them from the start of the 2017/18 season,” Oliseh explained to Complete Sports.
