Photos- President Buhari Finally Signs 2016 Budget

After months of rigorous scrutiny of the budget by the President Muhammadu Buhari, he finally puts pen to paper today to sign the 2016 Nigerian budget, in his company was the vice president, senate president Saraki and speaker Yakubu Dogora

It would be recalled that the President has rejected and returned the proposed budget presented to him by the senate on three different occasions over unsatisfactory elements made in the budget and even set up committees to oversee the said budget over the past two weeks.

With the signing of the budget Nigerians can now have a sigh of relief and hope it brings smiles to their bitter faces based on the fact that hardship was the other of the day these days.

The highly pronounced power failures across the country in the past few days may worsen following a partial system collapse that occurred on Tuesday, and the continuous drop in electricity generation due to what the government says is the vandalism of pipelines that supply gas to the power plants. As a result, power generation dropped to 1,580.6 megawatts on Wednesday.Data from the Nigeria Electricity System Operator as well as information from senior officials of the different electricitydistribution companies confirmed that power generation plummeted massively on Tuesday and Wednesday.
