Jose Mourinho will begin a ruthless purge of the Manchester United squad by selling £37million Juan Mata and £27m MarouaneFellaini if he is given the job.The former Chelsea manager, who is in advanced talks to replace his friend Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, has told executivevice-chairman Ed Woodward to sell the midfield pair. Mourinho, who has never made any secret of his ambition to manage United, outlinedhis intentions for the squad during a meeting with Woodward.

Mourinho has told executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to sell the midfield pair.
The Portuguese was behind the decision to cash in on Mata when Chelsea sold him to United with David Moyes still in charge at Old Trafford.
Although Mata was named in the PFA team of the year in 2013, Mourinho authorised his departure from Chelsea in January 2014 and he was eventually sold to United for a staggering £37m.
