FG To Train 100,000 Graduates As Extension Workers- Osinbajo

Female Olympian, Shaunae Miller, representing the Bahamas has shocked the world with a dive feat which earned her a place in the competition’s Gold ranking table. The sprinter who pulled what has been described as one of the wildest and most spectacular finishes in the Rio 2016 competition finished first in the women’s 400m race as she dived her way across the finish line. The athlete who started off strong in the race was caught up with by the four gold medal winning Allyson Felix who was believed to have wrapped up the race until the sudden dive which changed the whole story. Amokachi's Twin Sons Signs For Besiktas

Former Super Eagles assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi, has confirmed that his twin sons, Nazim and Kalim, have both signed one-year contracts with his former club, Besiktas. The twins underwent trials with the Turkish team and will now join up with compatriot, Kenneth Omeruo. “Happy to announce that my sons have taken a giant step in their football careers signing a 1-year deal with my former club, Besiktas,” Amokachi, who is currently coach of JS Hercules of Finland, wrote on his Facebook page. “I have always underlined the importance of education to them, but having sat enough in the study halls, the call of the football grounds has been too difficult to resist. Ambode Bans Omo Onile Land Grabbers In Lagos

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday outlaws land grabbing in Lagos after signing of the Lagos State Properties Protection Law. At the signing ceremony which was attended by the Lagos State Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade and other top government functionaries, Governor Ambode said the need for the law followed the fact that one of the issues that discouraged investors and hindered the ease of doing business in Lagos in the past had always been the menace of land grabbing. Teachers In Bayelsa Protest Over Unpaid Salaries

The streets of Bayelsa State got more than vehicles and pedestrians as secondary school teachers took over major roads to press home their demands before marching to the state secretariat in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital in south-south Nigeria. They claimed that while other workers in the state have received half month payment three times, they have not received anything. The teachers also rejected government’s proposition to give them half pay for the month of August on Thursday, insisting that the government must pay them as the other workers. The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) in Bayelsa State, Mr Oyiemi Ebiredeni, said that members of the union had been battling to survive, as a result of unpaid salaries.
