President Buhari Returns Budget For The 3rd Time, Demands Final Copy

FOR the third time the 2016 appropriation bill has been returned as President Muhammadu Buhari was said to have picked faults in the re-worked budget and returned it to the National Assembly for further legislative work. It was reliably gathered that the re-worked budget was sent to the president at about 1: 15am on Tuesday but was returned to the National Assembly at about 12.00 noon Tuesday. It was also gathered that principal officers and members of the review committee from both legislative chambers met at about 3.20pm till about 5.30pm in the Senate wing to reconsider the observations made by the president on the budget. Vanguard’s attempts to get some of the principal officers and the review committee members to confirm or deny the budget return story proved abortive as some of them switched off their phones while those whose phones were active ignored calls and refused to respond to SMS. Bakasi Boys Returns As They Prepare For Fulani Herdsmen

THE unrestrained invasion of communities and massacre of innocent citizens by the Fulani herdsmen across the country is now causing provocation for bloody uprising from the South East since the incident in Enugu State. Prominent Igbo leaders, at their meeting at the weekend, decided on urgent need for the Igbo nation to organize the people for self-defence against the invasion and killing of Igbo indigenes by the Fulani herdsmen. The dreaded Bakassi Boys, a violent vigilante group mobilized to terminate the troubling armed robbery menace in the south east some years ago, were revealed to have started regrouping to strengthen other vigilante groups to provide security for local communities and towns in the south east. Ahmed Musa Set To Join Leicester City In EPL

Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa is set to join Champions-in-waiting Leicester City in the coming transfer window. The club targeted the 23-year-old in the January transfer window but couldn’t meet CSKA Moscow’s £20million asking price and had two bids rejected. They hope to do a deal of around £18million this time around. Governor Oshiomole Increase Worker's Minimum Wage To N25,000

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State on Sunday announced a new minimum wage of N25,000 with effect from May 1, 2016 for workers. Oshiomhole who was addressing a rally organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), to mark this year’s Workers’ Day at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, announced the increment from the present N18, 000 minimum. “With effect from today, the new minimum wage for government workers shall now be N25,000, and the new minimum wage ‎will cut across board”, the former trade union leader said. The workers who before the announcement had expressed dissatisfaction over their poor welfare jumped for joy and happily marched in appreciation of the new minimum wage as announced by the Governor.
